Charleston's 250-level event is in action and the doubles No. 1 seeds notched a clean and seamless 6-0, 6-1 score over Japan's Makoto Ninomiya and Kurumi Nara. The duo will take on Wang Yafan and Katarzyna Piter next.

After three consecutive opening-round losses, the 30-year-old Brit is looking to post a win. Evans got off to a solid start by taking the first set 6-3 against Dusan Lajovic on the red dirt before his match was suspended.
