Top 5 Photos, 5/18: Swiss teen wins first ATP tour match

Some of the sport's biggest names were in action in different parts of Europe. Two Grand Slam champions saw their campaigns come to a quick end on the dirt, while one teenager kicked his ATP tour-level career off with a surprising victory over a former world No. 3.

Dominic Stricker

It wasn't the best day for Swiss players at their home event, but the 18-year-old managed to get the lone win for the country by upsetting former US Open champion Marin Cilic, 7-6 (5) 6-1, to advance to the last 16. It was also the teenager's first ATP main-draw showing. Stricker won the boys event at last year's Roland Garros.

Serena Williams

The 23-time Grand Slam winner suffered another upset on the red clay. This time, Serena took a 7-6 (4), 6-2 loss to Kateřina Siniaková at the WTA 250 event in Parma, Italy. She will head into Roland Garros with little match play under her belt and a 1-2 record on the surface this season.

Justine Henin

The former No. 1 and seven-time major champion made a press appearance in Limelette. The media showing was organized by the Justine Henin Academy and she was joined by former coach Carlos Rodriguez. The former Belgian player gave a first-look into her academy and the training of young talents.

Roger Returns

The 20-time major champion was back in action at the Geneva Open. It had been exactly 712 days since the 39-year-old had stepped foot on the red dirt, and although not perfect in his debut, he began to find his groove as the match went on. Federer, however, was just not able to maintain his high level, falling, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, to Spain's Pablo Andujar at the ATP 250.

Coco Gauff

The American player certainly knows how to dig deep and pull out wins in the closest of matches. At the Emilia-Romagna Open, she escaped past Estonia's Kaia Kanepi, 7-6 (6), 7-6 (7), to stay alive on the dirt. She will face aggressive baseliner Camila Giorgi next.
