As the year comes to a close, it seems fitting to go over the best shots that made everyone watching say, "How did they just do that?" Whether it's a lob, a tweener, a winner, or anything in between, they all share a common title: magic. These are the best hot shots of 2016.

Gael Monfils is the king of hot shots. A tournament can't go by without the Frenchman being somewhere in the highlight reel. He's a master of flair, but as this clip shows, he's also a tactician.

While playing against Alexander Zverev in the semifinals in D.C., the world No. 7 leapt into the air looking as if he was going to blast the shot away. However, he quickly switched gears, instead softly touching the ball and throwing Zverev off balance before finishing the point with a volley.

This was a sign of things to come as Monfils dispatched Zverev fairly easily, 6-4, 6-0.

While Monfils has made more showy points in 2016 that could have been on this list, what makes this point so special is that it displays him as both a showboater and someone who uses tactics.
