There have been successful fantasy leagues for pretty much every major sport out there (football, baseball, basketball, etc.) and now, finally, it’s tennis’ turn to draw in the most dedicated fans.

Introducing Fantasy Tennis League, which has rolled out just in time for the first Slam of the year in Melbourne (it's being heavily promoted by the Australian Open).

The interface is slick, easy-to-use and inviting, complete with virtual likenesses to the real pros. All you do is sign up (for free) and begin selecting your team with your (imaginary) $100 million budget.

The greatest part is you get to pick from both WTA and ATP players for a unique, co-ed team. The captain counts for 50 percent and the team includes three key players counting for 20 percent each and four more active players. You also have to select a benched team of six (you’re not allowed to take part without a full team of 16).

Before the league officially begins on January 16, you have an unlimited number of trades. After that, you have three trades per week with a maximum of 72 throughout the year.

If you missed the start of the season, you can still enter any time during the season. Points are earned for match and tournament wins (obviously), but also for smaller success like sets, tiebreaks, aces, break points converted, etc.

There are prizes to be won, including a 2018 Australian Open package that includes two men’s final tickets, flights and accommodation. But let’s be real, the odds are you’ll be battling solely for bragging rights with your friends.

May the odds be ever in your favor.
