Tsonga leaves Melbourne with a thank-you note

The ball girl from last year wrote a touching letter.

Last year at the Australian Open, the tennis world took notice of Jo-Wilfried Tsonga assisting a ballgirl at the Australian Open, who was in tears after being hit by a ball.

This year, the girl,Giuliana, wrote a thank-you note to the Frenchman for his act of kindness, which he shared on his Facebook page.

“Simply delighted by your thoughtfulness,” the card states. Aside from thanking Tsonga, she also explains how she was off her game that day as she was battling a virus.

And Tsonga’s now-forever fan let him know that she’s rooting for him to go all the way at the year’s first Slam.

“Congratulations on making it to the next round. I wish you all the best for your upcoming games and I hope you are able to make it to the very end of the Australian Open!”

Ball kid No. 180 was likely disappointed to learn her hero lost in the quarterfinals on Tuesday to Stan Wawrinka in straight sets.
