New York Fashion Week is nearing, and a few tennis pros take that to heart at the final major tournament of the season. Pictures are worth thousands of words, so let's get right to the business of sending up the best on court in Queens.

Illya Marchenko's Hydrogen attire gave the Ukrainian an American-at-the-Olympics vibe, replete with skull logo. At least the star he dispatched in Saturday night's closer, a hobbled Nick Kyrgios, donned the better version of Nike's leaking-highlighter look.

Marchenko does win Best Shorts (Non-Rafa) at this Slam:

And Kyrgios' shoes, paired with both the overly-neon Nike attire and the more sedated evening look, are, in a word, ace.

Venus Williams, forever sporting her own EleVen by Venus brand, scores around a 7 here. The colors are fresh, but she maintains the matronly print needlessly. Though 36 years young, these prints continue to age her. The navy block in the back breaks up the print nicely, but it remains to be seen whether she will forego such over-40 fashions in favor of something more cutting-edge. She gets a pass this outing, but hopefully she ups her style game moving forward, as she's playing so well.

Even so, Venus—yesteryear's devil in a can-can dress—will always reign in the bloomers department. This tournament, in purple:

Katerina Sinikova wore the same style as Denisa Allertova, but she gets the "Who Cares?" Anti-Style Award for rocking some Grade A Patty Schnyder Third-Set Frizz on her blonde dome.

BEST DRESSED WOMAN: Camila Giorgi goes glam in a slim, slinky pink dress, bedecked in accessories such as a complementary headband, a belt (a belt!), and the WTA Tour's No. 1 Ponytail (complete with scrunchie).

BEST DRESSED MAN: Adidas wins out with its vibrant, vivacious colors on Jo-Wilfred Tsonga, an outlier in the style data among men competing for the rowdy New York crowds' affections. Further fashion points for the best post-victory celebration, a fitting tribute to Muhammed Ali, who died earlier this summer. The Greatest lives on.

In for-her-body-only Nike dresses, Serena Williams must be given conflicting style marks (her day dress is addressed in the Fashion Misses collection). The world No. 1's night attire comes off gorgeous and fashion-forward. Her burgundy shoulder panels, sleek sleeves and pleated details are to be relished. As she vies for her Open-era record-breaking 23rd major singles title, let's be sure to relish her presence at the same time.

The Patron Saint of Short Shorts on the ATP World Tour, Rafael Nadal delivers where also-rans (in the style department) such as Andy Murray, Kei Nishikori and even Novak Djokovic don't seem to want to do so. Black and blue and green, with a stylish tweener to boot. Go on, Rafa, go 'head, get down.

Cincinnati winner Karolina Pliskova has kept her winning ways going in the wardrobe goes as well. Her US Open dress by Fila is everything her patented, popping serve owns: It's streamlined, trimming and eye-catching.

BEST DRESSED SUPERFAN: Our Chic Celebrity Fan Style Award goes to 35th-birthday girl Beyonce, rocking a deep-beige, spaghetti-strapped faux-kini, a shawl, and some high-end arm candy in the form of husband Jay Z for Serena's Thursday night match in Week 1. Well worn, fellow "Gift from Virgo."

Caroline Wozniacki has seen some historically bad styles from Stella McCartney for Adidas, and she has weathered wearing them all. Her latest dress is a flat-out winner. So right, with complementary colorways, beauty and intrigue. It's actually a dress that the women at your local club can wear off the rack as well, for what that's worth.

Rounding out our top fashions roster are Garbine Muguruza, Andrea Petkovic and others sporting Adidas' ubiquitous women's look. The results have been mixed, but overall, the Spin finds that the gray-and-pink combo serves to subtly link summer to fall in a fun, ultimately fair look. It's not amazing, but it's not meh, either.
