US Open Social Preview: Cori "Coco" Gauff

At just 15 years old, Cori "Coco" Gauff hasn't had much time at all to rack up many Instagram-able memories. Yet, because of her accomplishments, she's already captured a career's worth of great shots—and garnered over 400,000 followers. Here's a look at the social-media game of tennis' most hyped player:

It's rare for even veteran players to earn the attention of both Roger Federer and Serena Williams, but Gauff did just that, getting a picture with Williams when she was 12, and signing with Federer's agency, Team8, at 13. Those in the know, it seems, have seen her success coming from a mile away.

Of course, where Gauff really broke through at the professional level was at Wimbledon this year, where she won six consecutive matches: three to come through qualifying, a 6-4, 6-4 first-round win versus Venus Williams and two more before going out to eventual champion Simona Halep.

The breakthrough made Gauff a star beyond tennis, and as a result, when the tour went to Washington, D.C., this summer, she got to meet Michelle Obama.

And in the Washington WTA tournament, Gauff lived up to expectations. She again won her qualifying matches to make the main draw, and in doubles she took the women's title, winning every match in straight sets, with fellow U.S. teen Caty McNally.

Now, as she enters the main draw of the US Open for the first time, she does it with a brighter spotlight on her than ever, as evidenced by her appearance on the cover of Teen Vogue.
