On Tuesday in Melbourne, CoCo Vandeweghe stormed into her first major semifinal with a 6-4, 6-0 demolition of 2016 Roland Garros champion Garbine Mugurza. The 25-year-old American hasn't let her unseeded status stop her from supplanting anyone in her path (she also stunned world No. 1 Angelique Kerber in the fourth round).

While her racquet has been doing most of the talking, Vandeweghe has been quick to provide a memorable quote or 10.

1

"I hit a backhand down the line for a winner." – Vandeweghe's answer for how she beat Eugenie Bouchard, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 in the third round.

2

"Well, that's his job. He should." — On if her coach would help prepare her to face world No. 1 Kerber.

3

"Actually, not that high now that I think about it." – When she was asked to rate her win over Bouchard.

4

"What's the expert say? Does he say it looks natural?" – After a reporter told her a specialist's observation of her solid mechanics.

5

"Honestly it was quite disrespectful to hear that you said he's a comedian, especially when he's such a great individual and has been nothing but helpful for many tennis players, as well as changed the game in so many different ways." – Defending her late coach Vic Braden.

6

"I mean, it's a new year." – Her response to her five-match losing streak to end 2016.

7

"I go out there expecting to win." – After dismissing defending champion Kerber, 6-2, 6-3.

8

"I was really kind of nervous. I even told my coach before, I was like, better get some toilet paper out there because I'm... you know." – Moments after reaching her first major semifinal over Mugurza.

9

"Once I got rolling in the second it was like a freight train. You couldn't stop it." – Describing her 6-4, 6-0 win over Muguruza.

10

"I think I don't shy away from a challenge necessarily. I never have. Growing up, I've always just been wanting to prove people wrong in a lot of different regards." – On how she's pulling off multiple Top 10 wins.

Here's hoping to see and hear a lot more from Vandeweghe after she faces Venus Williams in the semifinals.
