Spectacular awaits...

It’s never too early to get hyped for the US Open, and the tournament hopes fans will lean back and lean into a pair of epic new ad spots—narrated by none other than Grammy-nominated and acclaimed New York rapper Fat Joe.

“Get your game face on and your game day fit on too,” narrates the Terror Squad MC over footage of stylish players and fans for the first spot, titled “Experience.”

The second spot focuses more exclusively on the talent set to take the court for the 2024 US Open, which begins on August 26.

Featuring defending champions Novak Djokovic and Coco Gauff. “Players” also looks ahead to “the next chapter of spectacular,” which includes the likes of Aryna Sabalenka, Frances Tiafoe, and Jannik Sinner.

“Engaging a New York City and cultural icon like Fat Joe with our campaign is a great representation of the US Open experience,” said Nicole Kankam, Managing Director, Pro Tennis Marketing and Entertainment, USTA, in a press release. “His presence is undeniable and he’s the perfect match for the growing energy, excitement and profile of the US Open.”

For Fat Joe, who boasts nine Top 40 singles on the Billboard Hot 100—as both a lead and featured artist though a career that spans over two decades—tennis is personal through his autistic son Joey’s connection to the sport.

“He has a tennis ball in his hand for his whole life,” he exclaimed in a behind-the-scenes video. “If you look on my social media, on his birthday…we’ve done tennis ball cakes! That’s his favorite thing. It feels like protection to him.”
