WATCH: Andreescu gets homecoming party at airport

After the best month in her short-lived professional career, Canadian teen Bianca Andreescu finds herself followed and feted all over Canada.

There she is, tracked by a CTV News camera at a Toronto airport, upon returning home from her first pro title run to the affections of her parents, Nicu and Maria, the latter bedecked in cerulean-hued fashion, and an enamored little dog.

The Canadian also received the public admiration of Omar Alghabra, an elected official representing her home of Mississauga, who recognized her recent achievements in speaking to his peers in Canada's Parliament.

Andreescu started her year with shocking victories over Caroline Wozniacki and Venus Williams, among others, in Auckland before dropping the championship match to Julia Goerges. Anastasija Sevastova briefly stalled her rise in the Australian Open's second round. But soon after, Andreescu dropped just two games in a quarterfinal beatdown of compatriot Eugenie Bouchard en route to the singles title at the Oracle Challenger Series event in Newport Beach.

Glory at any level can be short-lived in tennis, and it's back to competition for Andreescu next weekend. She will join Canadian Fed Cup teammates Rebecca Marino, Gabriela Dabrowski and Francoise Abanda in a tie against the Netherlands squad.
