Why go the traditional route on a passing shot when you can add a little ATP Next Gen flair to it?

Early in his second-round match at an ATP Challenger tournament in Istanbul, 20-year-old Alexander Bublik slapped a tweener passing shot on the run past his opponent, Simone Bolelli. The Italian veteran could only applaud.

Bublik, who captured his first career ATP Challenger title in February, lost the first set 6-2, but rolled through the next two with the loss of only one game to advance to the quarterfinals.

The Kazakh has been known to break out the hot shots in the past. Case in point: His display against Christian Harrison in Binghamton over the summer.

After his match today, Bublik took to Twitter with pride and tagged a modern-day tweener-hitting legend.

Kyrgios gave him his props, sort of.

Is that a challenge for Bublik to step up his shot-making game even more? Let's see what’s in store for the quarterfinals.
