All elite tennis players are frustrated by particular opponents or their peccadilloes, especially late in a long season. Juan Martin del Potro, considered a tall Argentine teddy bear by those out of the know, certainly was when he vocalized his displeasure with Robin Haase's penchant for limping and, in his estimation, faking an apparent hip injury during their early-round Basel encounter.

Haase reportedly suffered the injury in the first set, briefly delayed the match's continuation to assess the nature and extent of it. Del Potro wasn't having it upon being broken for 3-all in the second stanza. The Argentine's words for Haase were rough, complaining he touches his leg and limps, and yet still says "Vamos." The rest of his comments roughly translate to calling Haase "a piece of ghost" and, worse, referring to the anatomy of Haase's mother.

Here's a look at highlights from their match, which Del Potro won in the end by a 6-3, 6-4 count.

As detailed here, this is obviously not Del Potro's first verbal spat, though one-sided in this case, with an opponent on court. He would continue to the quarterfinals at the Swiss Indoors tournament, falling 7-5, 6-4 to eventual finalist Kei Nishikori.
