Novak Djokovic returned to screens around the world on this week’s edition of Tennis United. This time around, Djokovic’s health and wellness advice was a little more universally accepted.

Many people around the world would surely love to trade places with the world No. 1, but few would be able to handle his extremely disciplined diet. He and co-host Vasek Pospisil discussed diet, as well as the proven scientific benefits of intermittent fasting.

"I like to start the day with some warm water and lemon, some silver drops, they are good for the bacteria as well as detoxing," Djokovic said. "I like to have a green juice or a green smoothie with spinach, leafy greens and some spirulina."

Djokovic has eaten a plant-based diet for the past five years. “I grew up on the opposite side of the spectrum, eating meat like three times a day. But I changed that, I like it the way it is," he said. "I’m doing this intermittent fasting, I try to go for 16 hours not consuming any major calories or anything that will require too much energy digesting."

Clearly, whatever Djokovic is doing with his diet is working like a charm, as the Serbian is a perfect 18-0 in 2020.
