Roger Federer is in London to campaign for a record eighth Wimbledon crown and 19th Grand Slam title. Seeded third and riding a winning wave from Halle, he's got more than a fair shot. But first, the 35-year-old looks back at his favorite memory.

Ever the diplomatic, Federer didn't even pick one of the seven times he won the crown. Instead, he went with his 2001 upset over then-world No. 6 Pete Sampras (one of his idols) in the fourth round. It was Federer's third appearance at the All England Club, and the first time he had won a match.

Just two years later, a 21-year-old Federer won his first Wimbledon title—his first of 18 majors.
