In honor of Black History Month, New Balance has a new collection of footwear called "My Story Matters". With a tan, purple, and burgundy color palette, the latest shoes will look inspired on any athlete. Yet it's the two faces behind the campaign that really make it shine: New Balance ambassadors Jaden Smith and Coco Gauff.

Gauff is well-known for supporting the Black Lives Matter movement, and being able to join forces with one of her favorite artists is nothing short of a dream come true.

We believe the Black experience is rich, diverse and full of stories that deserve to be told. So, in honor of Black History Month, we invite you to share your story. @jaden @DapperLou @newbalance #MyStoryMatters #TheirStoryMatters pic.twitter.com/m1VFeOqOOS — Coco Gauff (@CocoGauff) February 1, 2021

Gauff met Smith and his younger sister Willow during the US Open in 2019 when her parents surprised her with tickets to their concert.

While Gauff isn't rocking the new footwear on the court, she is all set for the Australian Open. She will open her 2021 Grand Slam campaign against Jil Teichmann, the same player she beat in the first round of the Gippsland Trophy WTA 500 last week.
