Kristina Mladenovic showed she can take the slice backhand crosscourt and down the line, but if there’s an opportunity to get a pointer from one of the best in the business, why not?

Mladenovic posted a video to Instagram, acknowledging 2015 US Open finalist Roberta Vinci’s prowess with the one-hander. Vinci responded to the Frenchwoman’s video in the comments, saying, “Kikiiii but it’s perfect!!!!! You do not need my advice.”

Mladenovic replied, “Thanks but it’s not true! I’ll call you after Rome.”

Vinci recently announced that she’ll be calling it a career after next year’s Italian Open.

And what a career it’s been: a Top-10 singles ranking, a career Grand Slam in doubles and notching one of the biggest upsets this millennium.

At the 2015 US Open, Vinci—behind that stylish one-hander—stopped Serena Williams’ bid for a calendar-year Slam by defeating her in the semifinals.

Vinci’s long possessed one of the most versatile backhands on the WTA Tour, and with history-making results behind her, you can’t blame Mladenovic for giving her a shout-out in regard to her brilliance.
