Rafael Nadal has a heart of gold, almost everyone knows that already, and now so does a little boy at the US Open. USTA Net Generation sets up special signing opportunities for children only, but one youngster got crushed near the front of the eager mob and was saved by Nadal.

The world No. 2 speaks to and consoles the crying boy, who eventually realizes he's standing alongside the 18-time Grand Slam champion and gets his signature.

Nadal benefited from a walkover on Thursday night from an injured Thanasi Kokkinakis and will play Hyeon Chung on Saturday.
