On the court and off, Ons Jabeur is a master at improvisation, and put her skills at the latter to use in a sparsely-attended Wimbledon post-match press conference.

“Be careful, there’s a lot of people,” she joked to one journalist entering the interview room after her straight-set win over Bai Zhuoxuan. “If you can find a seat!”

Fresh off her star turn on the first season of Netflix’s Break Point, Jabeur has proven herself a natural in front of the camera, playing to it despite the minimal audience who arrived to ask about her run into the third round.

“They have good snacks inside, maybe?” she pondered, coming up with theories for where the missing journalists might be.

“Oh, they went to The Weeknd,” she added, perhaps imagining they might be taking in the concert alongside noted superfan Casper Ruud.

The No. 6 seed nonetheless generated a healthy transcript, going back and forth with one journalist in particular who asked about her meeting with sporting idol David Beckham.

“You like David Beckham, eh?” she teased as the journalist pressed her for details on their encounter.

“We talked about football, about his daughter, tennis in general. Him maybe watching a couple matches in U.S,” she explained. “So let's see.”

Into the third round for a third straight year, the 2022 finalist may expect a greater throng of journalists as she edges closer towards the second week, facing 2019 US Open champ Bianca Andreescu on Saturday.
