WATCH: Osaka unveils Tokyo 2020 Olympics motto

Olympic years always add a little something extra to the tennis calendar. But this year in Tokyo, tennis will be a main attraction with Naomi Osaka being one of Japan's most famous athletes.

Five months out, she's already being promoted as the face of the event. In a video this week, Osaka unveiled this year's Olympic motto: "United by Emotion."

"We are each different, and all so much the same," she says in the promo. "And in these moments we experience and these emotions we share, we change what we can imagine together."

As contrived as these things can sound, the motto does fall in line with the personal philosophy of inclusion that Osaka's lived out throughout her career.

Some past moments of Olympic-tennis glory have included Steffi Graf in Seoul—en route to her 1988 Golden Slam—Serena Williams and Andy Murray winning on the grounds of Wimbledon in 2012 and Monica Puig making history for Puerto Rico in Rio de Janeiro.

For a generation of veteran superstars, Tokyo can easily be seen as a last best shot at an Olympic medal. But for the Osaka cohort, this isn't a chance they'll want to waste either.
