Serena Williams had a successful return to the tour and return to Rome with a 6-4, 6-2 win over qualifier Rebecca Peterson. Playing her first match in Rome since winning the title in 2016, Serena received a warm welcome in Italy and even warmer welcome from Tennis Channel’s Prakash Amritraj.

In her post-match interview, Serena just could not hold it together as she burst into fits of laugher multiple times.

The two friends go way back to their early days on tour as Amritraj is a former Top 200 player. Serena, the No. 10 seed, could play her sister Venus in the second round.
