NEW YORK—Serena Williams has officially done everything there is to do at the US Open, showing off her first taste of the tournament’s signature Honey Deuce.

“Honey, that’s not deuce,” she raved on Tik Tok. “That’s called Honey, ad-in, or Honey ace. Let’s rename it!”

The 23-time Grand Slam champion has held the trophy in Flushing Meadows a whopping six times but has been enjoying a much more relaxed return to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in the two years since evolving away from tennis.

After appearing on site Saturday paying homage to the denim skirt she first wore at the Open in 2004, Williams spent Sunday on Arthur Ashe Stadium cheering on Grigor Dimitrov and Coco Gauff as the tournament kicks off its second week.

In between, she sampled the Honey Deuce, which debuted at the US Open back in 2007, for the first time—a wild revelation given her 21 trips to Flushing Meadows as an athlete.

“Everyone’s like, ‘Have you ever had one?’ No, because I’ve always been playing,” she clarified.

The signature cocktail costs $23 dollars this year, but the drink and its commemorative cup are expected to break their sales records as the Honey Deuce closes in on a 20th anniversary in Flushing.

A self-proclaimed tequila girl, Williams ought to try the Dobel cocktails inspired by the likes of Taylor Fritz and Aryna Sabalenka, whose recipes are available around the grounds.
