Wimbledon's No. 1 Court is going through a renovation to install the new roof, and the beginning stages are jarring for any tennis fan as pieces of the old stadium are being taken down. The renovation is estimated to cost over $90,000.

The new No. 1 Court will make its grand debut in 2019 (one year after the opening of the US Open's new covered Louis Armstrong Stadium).

If all goes according to plan for Wimbledon, the second roof will go into play exactly 10 years after Centre Court's much-needed cover.
