Not many people have defeated Roger Federer, especially players outside of the Top 100, especially not after fending off three match points and coming back from 2-5 in the third set.

Evgeny Donskoy became one of those rare players on Wednesday in Dubai. It was the first time the Russian was playing against Federer. Even in the tiebreaker in the third set, Donskoy failed to quit, coming back from a 1-5 deficit.

It's possible the tides started to turn when, in the middle of the match, one of the court's floodlights shut down.

Of course, as normally happens after an upset, Twitter blew up.

In the press conference afterwards, Federer was still in a daze from the loss.

"It's a rough one, for sure," he said.
