World reacts to Millman shocking Federer in New York

On Monday, John Millman pulled off the biggest upset of the tournament, and his career, by defeating Roger Federer in the round of 16 at the US Open. In four sets, 3-6, 7-5, 7-6, 7-6, the Australian took advantage of a less-than-100 percent Federer to nab the win.

Social media immediately blew up, stunned by the loss that should have been a quick stop on the way to the quarterfinals for the Swiss Maestro.

Millman seemed more focused on his fantasy draft than on his quarterfinal meeting with Novak Djokovic.

Many are saying this a sign that Federer is simply not able to keep up with the top of the sport anymore, but some insist otherwise, blaming his loss on the extremely hot conditions in New York.

In the end, Federer can find comfort in the fact that he wasn't the only one affected by the shock defeat. At least he didn't lose $25,000 in an ill-fated bet.
