WTA goes behind the scenes with player communications staff

If you watch WTA events often enough, you'll notice the same faces approaching players courtside after each match. The communications staff is on hand week in and week out to help organize everything from media requests for interviews and mandatory press conferences to player appearances for tournament events and exhibitions.

"It's great to see the same people every tournament," Agnieska Radwanska says in the clip. "They really know you from now and they’re really doing a great job. Sometimes, also, they know how to talk to you when you lose the match."

Having to approach players about their media requirements after a tough loss is the hardest part, obviously, but there's a lot of great parts too.

"I think my favorite thing about working with the WTA is the people that I work with," Jeff Watson says. "Learning the off-court life of the players is very fun."
