The Australian Open presents a chance for the world's best players to get it right at the outset. Suffice it to say, though, that not everyone has his or her head in the style game. Paired with this year's opening-major fashion aces, here are the relative faults among fashions in Melbourne. They are notably fewer so, in a word, rejoice.
Caroline Wozniacki termed her first-round loss a "pretty sh*tty start to the season." That'd be a harsh way to frame her dress at this Aussie Open, but it still disappoints. What we want from Woz in Oz (and in Adidas) is a statement piece. We are so rarely seeing that anymore, maybe once every couple years. She's too much of a celeb-friending, globe-trotting fashion away from the court to not look outstanding every time she's on it.
