Alexander Zverev is completely fine with winning matches in five sets

Alexander Zverev will get another shot at reaching a Grand Slam quarterfinal for the first time in his career, and he doesn't care about the amount of hours he spends on court to do it.

The 21-year-old German is ranked No. 3 and has won three Masters titles, but has yet to get beyond the fourth round of a major—a discrepancy that is attracting increasing attention these days.

But he is again just a win away, reaching the fourth round by coming from a set down to win in five sets against Damir Dzumhur in the third round after doing so in the second round against Dusan Lajovic.

Though getting involved in these long contests could affect him physically further down the tournament, he's more concerned about just getting the victory.

"I'm trying to win matches. If it takes me three sets, great. If it takes me five sets, that's also great," Zverev said. "It's all about finding a way. Even if you're not playing your best, it's all about finding a way to win and finding the right solution to the right moment."

Zverev also suggested he could mentally benefit from those performances as he attempts to change his lackluster Grand Slam record.

"It was important to kind of see for myself that I can win back-to-back five-set matches and both very difficult, physical matches," he said. "I was feeling fine physically, so that gives me a lot of confidence going deep into the fifth set, going long matches on this kind of surface."
