COSTA DO SAUIPE, Brazil (AP) Top-seeded Nicolas Almagro bounced back from a lopsided first set to beat Juan Ignacio Chela 1-6, 6-2, 6-4 on Friday in the Brazil Open semifinals.

Almagro, who won this tournament in 2008, is seeking his eighth ATP title. The previous seven came on clay - the surface in Brazil.

The Spaniard closed out the match by breaking fifth-seeded Chela of Argentina to take the third set.

Alexandr Dolgopolov of Ukraine faced unseeded Ricardo Mello of Brazil in the late semifinal.
