Marcos Giron has been somewhat of a late bloomer on the tour, breaking into the Top 100 for the first time at age 27, and then the Top 50 at age 28—and earlier this year, at age 29, he won the first ATP title of his career at the grass-court event in Newport.

Today, at age 30, he hits yet another milestone.

The American recorded the 100th win of his career in Antwerp on Tuesday, defeating Botic van de Zandschulp—conqueror of Carlos Alcaraz at the US Open—in the first round of the indoor stop, 6-4, 6-1.

He’s the sixth active American man to reach 100 career wins.

280: Taylor Fritz
208: Frances Tiafoe

Two more players—Reilly Opelka and Brandon Nakashima—are closing in on that list, with 96 and 94 career wins, respectively.

Giron recorded the first tour-level win of his career in Los Cabos, Mexico in 2018, but he didn’t truly start piling on the wins until 2021—he’s actually tallied up 88 of his 100 career wins in the last four years.

2019: 2
2020: 9
2021: 23

Awaiting Giron in the second round in Antwerp will be the winner of the match between France’s Arthur Rinderknech and Belgian wild card Alexander Blockx, which takes place later today.

The No. 47-ranked Giron is the No. 8 seed this week.
