American teenager Francis Tiafoe has turned pro, signing with Jay-Z's Roc Nation Sports representation, according to the Washington Post and other publications. Last year, the 17-year-old won the Orange Bowl and Easter Bowl, two prominent junior tournaments. He also reached the semifinals of the boys' U.S. Open event.
The Maryland native is ranked No. 23 in the ITF junior rankings but reached No.1 last year. Two American juniors are currently ranked in the Top 5, Taylor Fritz and Stefan Kozlov.
Currently ranked No. 420 on the ATP rankings, Tiafoe has played on the Pro Circuit heavily this year, winning one Futures title and reaching two finals.
Tiafoe is the first tennis player to sign with Roc Nation Sports, which also manages NFL and NBA players.
