NEWPORT, R.I. (AP) — Kevin Anderson beat 20-year-old American Jenson Brooksby 7-6 (8), 6-4 on Sunday to win the Hall of Fame Open.
The 35-year-old South African captured his seventh ATP tour title, his first since the Maharashtra Open at Pune in January 2019.
"I guess I'm towards the end, but I'm definitely really motivated to keep going," he said to the crowd on center court after accepting a trophy.
Anderson is coming off knee surgery last year.
"It's been quite a road, a lot of injuries, surgeries," he said. "Winning a title definitely means a lot."
