Former world No. 1 Andy Murray has withdrawn from his next two scheduled events at Montpellier and Rotterdam.

The three-time major champion is still working to recover from an ongoing bone bruise injury. Murray did not say when he might return, but showed himself training in a photo on social media.

"The bone bruising is taking longer to heal that first thought, so I won't be playing in Montpellier or Rotterdam in February," said Murray in a statement. "I don't want to rush anything or put a timeline on my recovery. I'm going to listen to my body and step back on the court to compete when the time is right."

The injury, which is in the pelvic area, had already led Murray to withdraw from the ATP Cup and Australian Open.

Having returned from hip resurfacing surgery in 2019, the 32-year-old had just won the event in Antwerp before picking up the injury during the lead-up to Davis Cup.

Murray is No. 127 in the rankings.
