The Atlanta Tennis Championships have switched sites and will now be held at the Racquet Club of the South, July 18-24, 2011. The tournament was played at the Atlanta Athletic Club last year, but had a conflict with a PGA tournament scheduled for around the same time next year. The 26-court Racquet Club of the South hosted the 1990 Fed Cup and a men’s pro tournament during the 1980s.
The tournament kicks off the U.S. Open Series. Mardy Fish and John Isner have committed to return. The tournament moved from Indianapolis to Atlanta last year.
“Some people think we were in Atlanta for just one year, but nothing could be further from the truth—we are here for the long haul,” said Tournament Director Bill Oakes.—Matthew Cronin
