Australia has made it back to the Fed Cup World Group after the clay-loving Sam Stosur took a 7-6, 6-3 victory over Ukraine's Lyudmyla Kichenok, a 17-year-old is ranked No. 289. Stosur was originally scheduled to meet Ukrainian No. 1 Alona Bondarenko, but she was forced to pull out due to injury. Alona sister, Kateryna, is also 
hurt and couldn’t play the tie.

Stosur extended her unbeaten run in Fed Cup to 13 matches and also won her opening day tussle. Aussie debutante Anastasia Rodionova had upset Bondarenko on Saturday. “We’ve been saying last couple of years we wanted to get back to the World Group and I think we deserve to be there,” Stosur told FedCup.com.—M.C.
