VIENNA (AP)—Austrian tennis player Sybille Bammer will come out of retirement to play her final tournament at next week’s Gastein Ladies.

The 31-year-old Bammer ended her career after losing in the first round at Wimbledon last month but decided on Friday to enter the clay-court event in Bad Gastein.

She says in a statement “it’s a great feeling that I get the chance to play my last WTA event in my home country.”

Bammer is ranked 148th but avoids having to qualify because Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova, Dominika Cibulkova and Anastasija Sevastova have pulled out of the main draw.

Bammer reached a career-high 19th in 2007 and won three WTA titles.
