After suffering a 6-0, 1-6, 6-4 loss to Shuai Peng at the Portugal Open today, Marion Bartoli says she is not concerned about her prospects at Roland Garros.
The world No. 14 has suffered three straight opening-round losses and has yet to win three matches in a row this year. She has reunited with her father, Walter, as her coach after brief stints working with Jana Novotna and Gerard Bremond. Bartoli recently told Tennis Journal that she is still looking for a new coach to replace her father.
“I need to devote even more time to clay,” Bartoli told reporters. "It's easier to adjust to hard courts. I started 2011 slow on clay and reached the semifinals of Roland Garros. I think it is better to have these losses early while I am trying to find my best game on clay.”
