BRISBANE, Australia (AP) Former Wimbledon runner-up Marion Bartoli beat Barbora Zahlavova Strycova of the Czech Republic 6-2, 6-1 on Thursday to reach the Brisbane International semifinals.

Fourth-seeded Bartoli, ranked No. 16 in the world, trailed 2-1 in the first set before winning the next eight games to take control of the match.

The Frenchwoman will next face either Australia's Jarmila Groth or German Andrea Petkovic, who play later Thursday.
