Top-seeded Ashley Barty extended her winning streak to 14 matches on Thursday after posting a 6-1, 6-3 win over Alison Van Uytvanck in the second round of Wimbledon.

"I think overall today I was just really clear. I think I did a really good job with my execution of how we wanted to play," said Barty. "Pretty sharp right from the start. I was able to implement what I wanted to right away and put the pressure straight back on her."

Barty has now won 16 consecutive sets since lifting the French Open title, her first career major, in June. So far, she’s unbeaten on grass, having won the Birmingham title following her victory in Paris. The Aussie will next play Great Britain's Harriet Dart, a 7-6 (4), 3-6, 6-1 winner over Beatriz Haddad Maia.

Meanwhile, Sloane Stephens was equally dominant today as she made quick work of Wang Yafan, 6-0, 6-2, in just 54 minutes. For a place in the round of 16, Stephens, who reached the Wimbledon quarterfinals in 2015, will meet Johanna Konta. The home favorite moved past Katerina Siniakova, 6-3, 6-4 and recently defeated the American in the Roland Garros quarterfinals.

"I thought I played a good, solid match obviously from the beginning, So I was happy with that," said Stephens. "I felt like I executed my game plan well, and that's all you can really do. I was just happy to get a good win today."
