John Isner and David Ferrer reached the quarterfinals of the Miami Open mainly on the strength of what they do best. For Isner, that's serving projectiles with his built-in height advantage (the American is 6'10"); for Ferrer, that's grinding out points with the efficiency of a pepper mill. But that's not all they do. Isner showed a taste for coming forward in his match against Kei Nishikori, approaching the net to put the finishing touches on a point that began with power. And before Ferrer can put the clamps on his opponent's offense with his baseline prowess, he needs to get the point underway with a serve that, if not anywhere near as imposing as Isner's, has been good enough to keep him inside the Top 10 for years. Keep doing what you do, guys.(Photos from AP)
