A lot of looks, some quite colorful, were on display at the WTA Tour's Pre-Wimbledon Party on Thursday. Richard Branson's family owns the Kensington Roof Gardens home in London, and the tennis-loving Virgin mogul hosted the event. Maria Sharapova, for one, opted to show in a souped-up Porsche, the brand's speediest street-legal vehicle. (It goes from 0 to 60 miles per hour in two and a half seconds.) Now that, friends, is an entrance.

But enough about cars and urban palaces. Few events over the course of the pro-tennis season bring out the style senses of the brightest stars in women's tennis quite like this Wimbledon prelude. **Here are the images I'll be dissecting.**

Without further ado, the Spin's fashion aces and faults from the bash:

Maria Sharapova: Let's get this out of the way directly—she rarely does anything wrong, sartorially speaking. This is another clean winner all around.

Venus Williams: The sequined emerald-green minidress looks comfy and gorgeous, a perfect match for her skin tone.

Sabine Lisicki: The cut and color of her dress are flattering and youthful, as is that vivacious smile. (I was honestly searching for a "swoosh" logo somewhere on it, though.)

Li Na: Only she gets away with this blouse-y burgundy number, certainly the evening's most comfortable attire.

Serena Williams: Inevitably a piece from the Burberry Prorsum line that she favors (err, favours?), she rocks a cream-colored, double-breasted trenchcoat ... and perhaps little else?

Donna Vekic: In the night's "Mariah Carey moment," she bares her midriff beneath a black top and pairs it with a fun, pleated skirt. This is the darkhorse best look of the event.

Daniela Hantuchova: Say yes to that minidress. (No shocker that she's sporting yet another one.) But just say no to that makeup.

Laura Robson: Sidelined due to an obvious injury, she still wins in a pretty light-blue dress that's fanciful and laden with personality, just like her.

Sorana Cirstea: The devil in a blue dress—a lovely frock but a sad countenance. A smile remains the cheapest way to improve one's appearance. Her shoes unfortunately match her face here. (Much, much better in the below tweet, however.)

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova: The dress is fine, but the smoky eyes make her look like a human raccoon. (See slide 7 of 24 here.)

Ana Ivanovic: The orange accent color is cute on her, but the floor-length gown doesn't befit the event, as nearly everyone else seemed to know.

Jelena Jankovic: As with her fellow Serb, she looked great—but the look fails to work for the moment at hand as she shows off curves in a burgundy number.

Victoria Azarenka: I want to like it, but the black-and-white outfit, in keeping with her mercurial fashion sense, just has too much going on, perhaps including a Batgirl top.

Ajla Tomljanovic: Everything goes every; everything hits at once. This may be the event's overall worst look.
