Osaka was unranked when she returned to the tour at the start of the year, and finished the year just outside the Top 50.

Osaka returned at the start of this year unranked after 15 months of maternity leave, and finished the year at No. 59. She had six Top 20 wins in her comeback season, including a Top 10 win over Ostapenko at the US Open.

Anisimova finished 2023 at No. 359 after ending her season in April due to personal reasons. She returned at the start of 2024 and finished it all the way up at No. 36.
