The Auckland event was the target of protests against Shahar Peer's participation for the second year in row on Tuesday, with the tennis center also evacuated after the discovery of an unattended bag.
Police later said the two incidents were not linked. A public street in front of the center was sealed off until emergency crews had inspected the scene.
Peer won her first-round match against Polon Hercog 7-5, 6-3.
"It's the second year in a row I have a demonstration against me. They shouted "shahar pe'er go away," she later wrote on her Twitter account. "[I]t's a shame!!!"
A local group, opposed to Israel's treatment of Palestinians, organized the protest and called on Peer to withdraw from the tournament "as a demonstration of your commitment to peace."
The protest consisted of a small group of about 10 people, reported New Zealand press. Twenty people took part last year, when the tournament coincided with Israel's offensive in the Gaza strip.
Tournament officials had heightened security ahead of this year's event.
