Camila Osorio has announced that she recently tested positive for coronavirus, but the Colombian is still wants to play the Australian Open.

The 20-year-old withdrew from this week's WTA 250 event in Melbourne, and says she is also out of next week's Adelaide 250 tournament.

Players testing positive are required to spend 10 days in isolation, some of which she has completed, and there are 11 days left till the Australian Open.

"I'm feeling very good and hope to return to court soon," said Osorio.

Several other players have also tested positive either prior to or upon arrival in Australia, including Rafael Nadal, Emma Raducanu, Belinda Bencic, Ons Jabeur, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Denis Shapovalov, Benoit Paire, and Andrey Rublev.

Osorio is ranked No. 55 and hoping to make her Australian Open main-draw debut. In 2021, she fell in the final round of qualifying when that stage of the Melbourne major was hosted in Dubai due to strict COVID-19 measures.
