NEW YORK—InsideOut Sports + Entertainment announced today that the 2011 Champions Series will kick off with Pete Sampras facing off against Michael Chang and Jimmy Connors battling Jim Courier in the 2011 HSBC Tennis Cup at Sunrise’s Bank Atlantic Center, September 22. The athletes will be competing for a prize pool totaling $1 million to be shared by the top three finishers at the conclusion of the five-week season.
In addition to Sampras, Chang, Connors and Courier, the five-week tour, co-produced by legendary impresario Larry Magid, will feature fellow Grand Slam champions Andre Agassi, John McEnroe, Bjorn Borg and Mats Wilander.
“Competing against my friends and foes at the Bank Atlantic Center is going to get my adrenaline pumping,” said Jim Courier. “With the star-studded lineup coming to South Florida we are all looking forward to giving this tennis-crazy area an exciting and competitive night of tennis.
