The earthquake that has hit Christchurch, New Zealand, has led to the ITF has canceling all four ITF Seniors World Team Championships that were being held there. The ITF announced that all members of Team USA are safe and unharmed, but that the Scenic Cirle Hotels Tennis Centre was severely damaged.
British pro Katie O’Brien said on Twitter that a British player described the courts cracking in the middle of his match. The British players are also said to be OK.
The Italia Cup, Dubler Cup, Fred Perry Cup and the Margaret Court Cup have all been canceled.—Matthew Cronin
