Coach Ivan Lendl rejoins his charge Alexander Zverev at Stuttgart

Alexander Zverev has regained some momentum and his coach as he starts the grass-court season.

The German is the top seed this week at Stuttgart, where he will be rejoined by his coach, Ivan Lendl, who did not accompany him during the clay-court season.

"I hope that I can keep up my good form," Zverev told press before the event. "I hope to have a good grass-court season, starting here in Stuttgart and then going to Halle."

Zverev is coming off three weeks of play, winning the title at Geneva and reaching the quarterfinals of the French Open, where he fell easily to No. 1 Novak Djokovic. Now he has to transition to grass in just a couple of days.

"I started to practice yesterday. I will do everything I can to be ready," he said.

But Zverev's recent run of victories are positive for the 22-year-old, who had otherwise played eight events and just once won back-to-back matches. He took a wild card into Geneva to get some extra play.

Zverev didn't have Lendl, who had been scheduled to come to the French Open, at the events; he is also coached by Alexander Sr., his father.

"I played a few good tournaments," he said. "In Geneva and in Paris."

Zverev is No. 5 in the rankings.
