Tennis fans who are suffering through the offseason need not look farther than the newsstand for a fix of their favorite court stars. As was the trend this summer, several of the WTA players are showing up – and showing off – on the covers of glossies across the globe.

Reigning Olympic singles champion Elena Dementieva is looking golden on the cover of recent editions of Russian Glamour and Marie Claire. In a spread inside the December MC, the 27-year-old Muscovite poses with the boys from an American football team called the Patriots (sorry, not those Patriots – no Bradys or Bruschis here).

Another Russian in the Top 10, Vera Zvonareva, is looking ultra-glam in PROsport magazine.

Meanwhile, perennial fashion plates Ana Ivanovic and Maria Sharapova are both enjoying their share of media attention this winter.

Ivanovic, who makes her home in Basel, graces the cover of Swiss glossy Regio Aktuell. Inside, she talks about living in Roger Federer’s hometown. The reigning Roland Garros champion also graces the front of Sport & Style L’Equipe. She posed for the current issue of Beijing Quarterly during the China Open and has previously appeared in Hello! and FHM.

Maria Sharapova’s recent injury layoff has not reduced her off-court exposure. In September, she was photographed for the British magazine Hello!, and she has recently posed for California Style, Russian Vogue, and Spanish GQ. The Vogue shoot raised eyebrows because of the use of fur, and the GQ spread garnered attention because it was on the steamy side.
