Victoria Azarenka has put the field on watch at the Australian Open. The world No. 16, pegged by many to make a run on the title, blasted No. 43 Alison Van Uytvanck off the court by a 6-0, 6-0 count in the first round. Azarenka was ruthless over all of 52 minutes, in truth quite long for a double-bagel victory. That won't matter to Van Uytvanck, a 2015 French Open quarterfinalist, of course.
Azarenka's stats weren't overly impressive—10 winners to 7 unforced errors—but her foe didn't make her do much. The Swag Artist Forever Known as Vika won 91 percent of points played on her first serve.
Upon ending Van Uytvanck's nightmare, Azarenka shook hands with the chair umpire and delivered a salute to the crowd. Or, in the parlance of today's youth, a dab. (That's a dance move, by the by.)
