Damir Dokic is not expected to return to Australia with his daughter Jelena during the upcoming Aussie summer season, The Age reports. The Dokic family recently reunited in Serbia, and Jelena has reportedly been working out with her former coach and father. Damir Dokic remains banned indefinitely from WTA tournaments after a series of bad incidents in the early 2000s. He was once ejected from Wimbledon for being drunk and disorderly. He was released from jail in April 2010 after serving almost a year for threatening to blow up the Australian embassy in Belgrade.
Tennis Australia's director of tennis and Australian Open tournament Craig Tiley said he does not expect Damir Dokic to make the trip and added that Jelena is planning to continue her coaching arrangement with Tennis Australia's Louise Pleming.
''Our relationship is with Jelena, and we're concerned about her health and well being and how it helps her perform and be a better tennis player," he said. "We're in the business of performance in tennis and not necessarily in the business of managing parental relationships, or spouse relationships, except at the point where they impact the performance of the athlete, and then we evaluate our support. And that would be the same for everyone."
No. 66 Dokic has lost six of her last seven singles matches.
