Medvedev vs. de Minaur : Monte-Carlo Preview & Pick
For the most part, Medvedev has had an edge on de Minaur since they first met in 2018. The Russian has won seven of their 10 meetings, including the most recent, at the ATP Finals on indoor hard courts last November. Medvedev has been ranked higher, racked up twice as many titles, gone deeper at the majors, and has even been the better performer on his dreaded clay. De Minaur has never won a tournament on dirt, while Medvedev has won one, in Rome in 2023.
The trouble is, that also happens to be his last title. The Russian has been slowly declining ever since, to the point where he’s now ranked one spot below de Minaur at No. 11. The Australian has the better record so far in 2025 (17-6 to Medvedev’s 13-7), and he won their only meeting on clay, in four sets, at Roland Garros last year.
That means this match will be an interesting test, in opposing ways, for both guys: It will test how far De Minaur has risen, and how far Medvedev has fallen. Winner: de Minaur
